Thrive Senior Living

Thrive Senior Living was founded in 2008 by Jeramy Ragsdale.

As a residential home developer, Ragsdale purchased his first assisted living and memory care as an opportunity to enter what he saw as a niche market that would make for easy financing.

Little did he know at the time that this initial purchase would signal the birth of what has since become one of the nation’s premier networks of senior living communities.

Now more than 12 properties strong, the Thrive network spans five states — Alabama, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Texas —  and continues to grow thanks to the brand’s reputation as a pioneer in bringing a fresh perspective to what senior living can be.

A New Way of Thinking About Aging

At Thrive Senior Living, the mission is to create communities where older adults can not only live but — you guessed it — thrive.

In doing so, however, leaders at Thrive know they cannot abide by the standards that have come to define traditional senior care. For years, these standards, the leaders say, have produced a living environment that very few can justify visiting — let alone calling home.

Residents of Thrive communities are not referred to as senior citizens; they are respected as older adults. Gray hair or a disability does not denote old age or limited physical capability; instead, they are seen as reflections of wisdom and experience.

It is this divergence from the norm that serves as the foundation upon which each Thrive community is built and under which each of the more than 1,000 employees operate every single day.

Meaningful Relationships Lead To Great Care

Residents of Thrive communities are encouraged to forge meaningful, long-lasting relationships with one another and with staff.

Rather than commodities, residents and staff at Thrive communities are seen as human beings with intrinsic value — and they are treated as such. The byproduct of this approach, Thrive says, is a symbiotic relationship that forms between residents and staff and one that breeds mutual respect and admiration.

Ultimately, the resident receives the quality care he or she deserves, and the staff member utilizes pride and a sense of purpose to excel at his or her responsibilities every day.

Spectrum of Life-Changing Care

Nearly all Thrive Senior Living communities provide some combination of independent living, assisted living, and memory care services.

Upon joining a community, each new Thrive resident is evaluated by staff to determine the level of care that most appropriately aligns with that individual’s unique needs and lifestyle.

Independent Living

This option is typically best for those who seek to downsize their living situation at home or join a more tightly woven community. Residents benefit greatly from having the autonomy to choose their own adventures every day, from partaking in a full calendar of social activities to enjoying the peace and quiet of private living arrangements.

Assisted Living

Assisted living services are perfect for residents who require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) but otherwise are physically capable of an independent lifestyle.

ADLs may include but are not limited to the following: eating, bathing, toileting, and getting dressed.

All staff at Thrive communities fully encourage residents to live as independently as possible, but in the event assistance is needed, residents are in good hands. Thrive communities are equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring systems, as well as licensed nursing personnel who are on call 24/7.

Memory Care

Residents who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or some other form of dementia require the highest level of care, but Thrive staff are educated and trained to view these residents as unique individuals.

In fact, every Thrive employee — from the culinary staff and nurses to the concierge and housekeeping workers — is certified by the National Institute of Dementia Education (NIDE).
